SynTara MissionSynTara’s mission is to develop its unique immunotherapy platform to provide life-saving and life extending immune therapies to cancer patients by nanoparticle delivery of antigen based products, with lung cancer as the first target disease. SynTara intends to be the first in class of immunotherapy companies with the capabilities of (1) clinically relevant antigen discovery and (2) efficient antigen delivery; the essential components of a successful immunotherapy product. SynTara BackgroundSynTara is a 50:50 joint venture of Immunotope, Inc. and Midatech Ltd. By combining the partners synergistic technologies we have created a unique immunotherapy platform, not just a delivery system for antigens. Midatech’s expertise in the field of nanomedicine and Immunotope’s expertise in immunotherapeutic antigen discovery and validation, results in new chemical entities or NCEs being created when the synthesized antigens are covalently bound to nanoparticles. Once administered the new molecule initiates the innate and adaptive immune cascade against “self-antigens” which we call Pathogen Like Synthetic Tumor Cells or PLSTC ™. As a result the immune system is tricked to mount a robust immune response to the PLSTC™ which does not happen when self-antigens are delivered with a simple adjuvant such as alum or montanide. Both JV partners have recognized intellectual property in their respective fields of immune therapy and antigen delivery. Immunotope and Midatech will license specific intellectual property to SynTara for the development of its immunotherapy products.
